I loved him while he slept.

While he was asleep, angels danced around his head,

The same save for their innocence and their purity and their hope,

And they danced about his head and they played across his face

And they made his whole heart glow and shine.

And the moon played along and the stars sang a song

And they let the angels play and dance

And then when he woke up, I swatted them away, crushed them,

Because while he woke, he was mine

And no angel would ever steal him away from me.

But though they stole him from me,

And though they were nothing like me,

I loved him while he slept.
